Happy Valentine's Day! Britton gave me my present last night, in the form of getting out of bed five times between 1:00 am and 3:00 am. Anytime she is sick or travels, we have to re-sleep train her. This time, she was sick AND traveled, so I expect she has a few more shenanigans up her sleeve.
So, this morning it appears (at least to her) that we rewarded such bad behavior with gifts! In actuality, we put out her Valentine gifts before bed last night, unaware of what lay ahead of me. The hubs and I had picked up some jelly flowers, Sweet Tart hearts, a card, and a Dora book.
A "love bug" shirt is a necessity on Valentine's Day!
Britton has been looking forward to Valentine's Day for weeks. Not because of the holiday, but because of her first dentist appointment! See my feet below? Yes, I had to sit in that dentist chair with her, seven-months-pregnant belly hanging out, just so Britton would play along with the hygienist. She did, letting the perpetually-happy teenager count her teeth, polish them, and even apply fluoride in trays that had to stay in place for a minute. But by the time the dentist came in, she wasn't playing nice anymore. They gave up and handed her the treasure box below!

Then we went back home with all of Britton's class party Valentines. I'm not sure why three-year-olds needs to participate, but they get a kick out of exchanging cheap party favors and trinkets. The Cinderella pencil was a huge hit, as was the stamp pad and assorted stamps. Sadly, Britton didn't get to participate in the party because it was held while we were at the dentist. But at least she got to bring her treats home.
Remember, all you need is love. Especially at 1:00 am. Happy Valentine's Day!
