Too many great pictures from our shoot this morning, so you get them all!
Britton is doing great. We went through a week where she refused to nap at daycare, but once they had a different teacher put her down she stopped refusing. In fact, her teacher reported to us that Britton has been the first to go to her nap mat and lay down without guidance. Now that's the sleeper I trained! She is still sleeping 12 hours at night, and anywhere between 1.5 hours and 3 hours for naps. We tried moving her bedtime 30 minutes later because it's been light until 7:30 pm, but it messed up her ability to get up on time. When I have to wake her up in the morning she needs a lot of snuggling, and while I am always up for it, it also always results in me being late to work.
Eating is going really well too. Britton snubs her nose at yogurt for unknown reasons, but lately she tried cottage cheese and loved it! She also has a special place in her heart for miniature corn and Grandma's pink lemonade popsicles. We just try and keep her dinners varied so that she doesn't get used to the same food over and over again. Good for the growing season of spring, she is still loving all things fruit and vegetable and cheese.
Britton's newest fascination is with airplanes and birds. When she hears rumbling (even if it is motorcycle), she points to the sky and says, "Airplane!" When she actually sees an airplane she does the same thing, then waves bye to it while saying "Bye Bye airplane!" over and over again. It is so darn cute! She's blasting through new words every day, and stringing them together into sentences. And recently she has begun pointing out objects in books, like a bunny or apple, and correctly identifying the object. She is still into coloring and music, but has also taken to the tumbling classes at daycare and can do a somersault (and modified downward-facing dog yoga position). Britton is really into singing the "e-i-e-i-o!" part of "Farmer in the Dell" and quacking like a duck. She can also do the sounds of a cow, cat, dog, donkey, and pig. She surprised us by being able to point out her eyes, nose, ears, mouth, chin, hair, feet, teeth, toes, and belly, since I don't remember teaching her half of them!
Britton is still in 2T shirts, mostly 3T pants. Her summer wardrobe is complete, minus any new shoes she may need. I finally bought her some eyelet-trimmed bloomers today so that she can wear the dresses I made her without flashing her diapers to the daycare class. In diapers she is wearing size 5 in both day and night diapers. No measurements until her 2 year appointment, but she's probably about 30 pounds now.
Likes: Bath time, playing in our cars, cleaning out said cars, "The Farmer and the Dell," turtles, the pony my friend Tiffany gave her which she calls "puppy," playing outdoors, climbing, her tool bench (which she now drags into the bathroom every night before bath!), her wagon, piggyback rides, and having her feet massaged with lotion when getting into pajamas
Dislikes: the aforementioned yogurt, when Sadie and the hub "play fight," being without Winnie, having her diaper changed, having her hair combed, and not being allowed to actually drive the cars she plays in
Editor's Note: After posting Britton's twenty month picture, I got a little nostalgic for how they would look in order, just month after month after month. Here's what I came up with. Enjoy it as much as I did.
