One month away from Britton's FIFTH birthday (say what?!) and birthday party prep is in full gear. It seems many of Britton's classmates have birthdays around now, because in the next month we have two parties to attend. And it's so exciting at this age, moving into more independence and abilities and learning to write and read. Britton just got back from ten whole days away from us, with Memaw and PawPaw, and she did really well!
Britton is knee deep into the Judy Moody series of books, and we're on the one about Independence Day (just luck!). Britton loves these chapter books, though I admit I do sometimes miss the beautiful pictures in more juvenile books. I'll get my fix when Barrett starts getting books read before bed.
Britton has transitioned into a new class at daycare, gearing up for kindergarten in the fall. But this summer is all about summer camp, and she's finally old enough to do the field trips, which excited her to no end! Tomorrow she has a talent show, and every day of the week is something new - bike day, water day, cooking day, bouncy house day, 4th of July parade - you get the drift.
Britton has developed a new interest in my makeup, which I'm fine with because hey, makeup can be fun! She gets such a kick out of the eyeshadow colors and blush and all the soft brushes, and I figure as long as we keep it in the house and asks permission before diving in then she's good to go. Here is Britton's interpretation of Elsa...
Likes: all things "Frozen," swimming lessons, traveling with Memaw and PawPaw, her princess dresses, swinging, playing with the water table with Barrett, a huge stack of books from the library
Dislikes: thunderstorms (I tell her that one day she will love them, but she's skeptical)
